Tasiaeafe Hiner has recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music studying with Alexa Still. As an orchestral musician, Hiner’s playing has been described as “eerily haunting” by The Chicago Tribune, and has also performed with the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, the Tuacahn Festival Orchestra, and the Marrowstone Festival Orchestra, among others. He has won several competitions such as the Las Vegas Flute Club’s Young Artist Competition and was a finalist in the Oberlin Conservatory’s Concerto Competition. During his time at Oberlin, Hiner also studied Baroque flute and recorder with Michael Lynn.
