Matthew Mondragon is a Houston-born musician who loves to teach private lessons and play for his home parish, St. Helen’s Catholic Church. In preparation for his college auditions, he spent three years studying under Tony Prisk. After his acceptance into the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, he continued his studies with Mark Hughes in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance and music education. He currently performs with the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra at his school. In the fall of 2018, Matthew plans to attend graduate school and continue in his musical studies.
