Mary Shin will complete her senior year next spring at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a violin performance major and philosophy minor. She is currently a Co-Concertmaster in the Calvin College Orchestra, and played Ravel’s “Tzigane” with the orchestra as a Concerto Competition winner in 2015. She started playing in String Quartet during her freshman year, and has performed with them in various places throughout Grand Rapids and Chicago. She has performed two solo recitals during her college years, and has performed in many concerts at Calvin including Spotlight concerts, the Calvin Music Festival, and various chamber recitals.
