Maddi Shake, an Indianapolis native, started playing percussion at 9 years old. Starting in 5th grade, she studied with Paul Berns of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for 8 years. Maddi was a 2016 TMF Fellow and is also an Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for their upcoming 2017-2018 season. She is currently a junior at The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago, where she is pursuing a B.M. in Percussion Performance. Her primary teacher is Vadim Karpinos of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
