Karl Zhu started to play the violin at the age 4, and 6 years later was accepted as one of the youngest violinist to The Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing with Professor Weidong Tong. In 2013, Mr Zhu moved to NY to study with professor Lucie
Robert at The Manhattan School of Music. Karl is a prize winner of both the 2008 Menuhin International Violin Competition
junior division in England and the “2009 Tchaikovsky Violin Competition” for young musicians at the tender age of 14 and 15 years old winning respectively the 4th and 5th prize. He has since performed in numerous concerts in Canada, Poland, Singapore,
Denmark, China and the United States. Mr. Zhu has also won the MSM Classical Concerto Competition in 2015 performing Mozart Concerto No.5 and just this year, as the youngest contestant won the 2016 Eisenberg-Fried strings competition. 22 years old, Mr. Zhu has participate in numerous music festivals including Kronberg Academy “a tribute of Yehudi Menuhin” in Germany, the Texas Music Festival in Houston, the Great Wall Festival in China and several others He is currently in the class of Professor Lucie Robert at The Manhattan School of Music "in the Bachelor's program" since 2013 as a full scholarship student, and plays a “Antonius Sgarbi Domo” violin on a generous loan by Ms Susan Ingerman.
