Justin Best is a freshman at The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he is a student of Richie Hawley. In 2016, Justin graduated with honors and was awarded the Fine Arts Award from Interlochen Arts Academy. He has spent his summers at Brevard Music Center and Interlochen Arts Camp, where he was an Emerson Scholar. He was recently a finalist in the International Clarinet Association High School Competition and the winner of the Kenneth G. Bloomquist Prize. Justin’s previous teachers include Emil Khudyev and Michael Forte.
