Community Arts Academy
The Community Arts Academy provides a comprehensive approach to musical instruction for students ages 6 and older, with access to Moores School of Music resources and a holistic approach for the study of piano, voice, and violin. Our classes are centered around peer-learning, theory, and prioritizing individual goals. Students have access to multiple collegiate-level performance opportunities that are exclusive to the University of Houston. CAA is a non-credit, non-degree granting program.

Cougar Band Camp
Cougar Band Camp is the annual summer band camp for middle school, junior high, and high school students, held at the Moores School of Music on the campus of the University of Houston.

Cougar Choir Camp
Students entering grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 prepare Texas All-State Choir repertoire during our four-day residential and commuter camp. Some of the state's finest educators help lead this innovative camp, and UH's outstanding faculty will augment the learning with exciting electives. Prelude to College
Prelude to College is open to high school junior and senior singers who are interested in preparing for college music school auditions. Attendees will have the chance to rehearse with the Concert Chorale, tour the Moores Opera House and participate in a faculty studio class, The Audition Package session and a masterclass at the University of Houston.

Summer Kodály Institute
The Moores School of Music Preparatory & Continuing Studies Kodály Certification program is an intensive, three-summer course of study. Each summer includes Personal Musicianship, Kodály Pedagogy and Practicum, Music Literature, Conducting, and Choral Ensemble. The course of study is divided as follows:
Level I: Pre-K, K, and Grade 1
Level II: Grades 2, 3 and 4
Level III: Grades 5 and 6

Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival
The Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival was founded in 1990 to provide young professional musicians with a stimulating musical environment in which to concentrate on developing skills in orchestral, chamber music, and solo performance. The four-week residency program on the University of Houston campus is under the guidance of distinguished artists from the Moores School of Music faculty, members of the Houston Symphony, and internationally recognized guests, many of whom perform as soloists with the TMF Orchestra and on the festival's chamber music concerts.
