The Keyboard Collaborative Arts Area's goal is to have a fleet of well-trained collaborative artists saturating every area of applied performance in the school. This area is an effective catalyst in alleviating and facilitating all aspects of music training in all areas. The teaching assistants not only work with instrumentalists; they also assist undergraduate piano majors in the preparation of their assigned accompaniments. They have opportunities to work directly with Applied Faculty members and spend time accompanying students, coaching instrumentalists and vocalists, playing masterclasses and auditions which occur frequently throughout the semester. Currently there is one position available. Potential students interested in our D.M.A. in Piano Performance with an Emphasis on Collaborative Arts will see these positions as opportunities for specialization and 'on-the-job' experience in playing, coaching and teaching.
