The Kodály Institute at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music is a three-summer certificate program endorsed by the Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE). This intensive program provides focused, high-quality studies based on the Kodály philosophy. It is designed to help teachers develop new techniques to support their students’ musical growth. UH offers Kodály Levels I, II and III, and each summer includes courses in Personal Musicianship, Kodály Pedagogy and Practicum, Music Literature, Conducting and Choral Ensemble.

Level I: Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grade 1
Level II: Grades 2, 3 and 4 (Enrollment requires approval)
Level III: Grades 5 and 6 (Not offered in 2019)
