Nancy Weems Endowed Scholarship

As the Madison Endowed Professor of Piano, Nancy Weems served as a faculty member in the Moores School of Music since 1982. Her dedication to music and commitment to the pursuit of excellence in the arts has helped lead the school and its students to unprecedented levels of achievement. Weems has enjoyed a successful career as both a noted performer and an internationally recognized pedagogue. Having performed extensively in the United States, Russia, Europe, Asia, Mexico and Central America to critical acclaim, her solo and concerto appearances include performances in 14 foreign countries, in addition to the US.

Continuing the Legacy

Weems is celebrated for her “Legacy of Excellence.” The new Nancy Weems Endowed Scholarship will cement this legacy in a way that allows the meaningful work she began at the Moores School of Music to endure and carry on. It will serve to bring the highest caliber of piano students to the Moores School of Music and support them in reaching their artistic potential. Ultimately, these students will ensure that the Moores School of Music continues to be known as one of the world’s great centers for the study of piano in the 21st century.

A $25,000 endowment will put the Nancy Weems Endowed Scholarship in Piano in the Moores School of Music. Our goal is to increase its impact by growing the endowment over time to a total of $1 million.
