Hey Coogs! Your Student Government Association (SGA) is committed to representing your voice and ensuring a strong foundation for student leadership at the University of Houston. As part of these efforts, we are excited to present an updated version of the SGA Constitution for your consideration. The current document has become outdated, inconsistent, and in some cases ineffective in addressing the evolving needs of the student body. The SGA Constitution must reflect transparency, accountability, and efficiency to better serve the student population, to promote trust, and to enact a system of adequate checks and balances. The proposed Constitution presents an opportunity to strengthen the structure, functionality, and relevance of the organization. The updated version is designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and overall student engagement in our governance. It also will increase student representation, improve election processes, enhance checks and balances. The proposed Constitution can be found here.
