Meditate with UH Zen Circle - Join us for an evening of guided meditation and a Dharma talk with Jiantan Shifu, Abbot of the Chung Tai Zen Center of Houston. Discover mindfulness, clarity, and connection through Zen practice—perfect for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. Click here for more information.
- Mindful Coping Essential Skills - Over two-thirds of students visit CAPS for anxiety concerns—fortunately, the Anxiety Toolbox workshops teach practical coping, mindfulness, and acceptance skills to help you feel more calm and in control. Workshops are for CAPS clients and meet Fridays at 3 p.m.; ask your counselor during an Access Visit if they’re right for you. Click here for more information.
- Grief Support Group for UH Students - This is a discussion-based support group for UH students who have experienced the death of a loved one (such as a partner, friend, classmate, family member, pet, or coworker). Click here for more information.
- PM Pals - Join PM Pals, a volunteer program supporting children with special needs through fun, supervised activities and mentorship. Volunteers assist with games and event needs—background check required—and carpool departs from Student Center South at 5 p.m., returning by 9:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
- Volunteering: Cougar Cupboard - Volunteer with NSM Student Leadership at Cougar Cupboard. Cougar Cupboard aims to address food insecurity among University of Houston students. Click here for more information.
- Write a letter to a Representative - Come to join LUNAR and AuFiat to get support in writing your local representative! With this election cycle, there are numerous things to speak up about (whether it is the federal or texas legislature) so come join us for support in getting your voices heard! - The Health Museum - Bayou City Arts Festival - The Bayou City Art Festival takes place Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 12–4 p.m. at Memorial Park (6501 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77007). Volunteers will assist at The Health Museum’s booth helping families create cyanotypes.
