Friday, October 17th

  • Ice Hockey Home Game  - Get ready to cheer on your UH Ice Hockey Sport Club as they face off against Texas Longhorns! Join us for a night of fast-paced action and school spirit as our team takes the ice. This is a great opportunity to support your fellow students and enjoy a thrilling hockey game.   • The Beacon Day Center - The Beacon is a central hub of services for individuals experiencing homelessness.  We have various programs that engage individuals in the process of recovering from living unsheltered – from hot homemade meals, mailbox privileges, shower and laundry services to civil legal aid and resource & referral. Click here for more information.  
  • Meditate with UH Zen Circle - Join us for an enlightening evening of meditation and discussion led by the esteemed Abbot of Chung Tai Zen Center of Houston, Jiantan Shifu. This special event will feature: A 30-minute guided meditation session, offering a peaceful introduction to Zen practice. Click here for more information. 
  • Taming Your Thoughts - Essential Skills - More than 2 out of 3 students who come to CAPS report that anxiety is their main concern. Luckily, very effective techniques and methods exist that can help you feel less overwhelmed and more in control of your emotions.   • Book Club Exchange - Book Club is hosting its first ever book exchange! Bring your books and bring a friend! We will also be playing games such as bingo, book icebreakers, and more! Click here for more information. 
  • Mini Clay Modeling - Join us for our event, where we'll provide a variety of colored air-dry clay for you to sculpt! Click here for more information.
  • Junk Journal / Scrapbooking Event - We will be scrapbooking using various paper materials, stickers, and fibrous materials such as ribbons and trims to make a few fun pages in their journals. (Must bring their own sketchbooks!) Click here for more information. 

Saturday, October 18th

  • UH vs. Arizona Game - Join us for the Homecoming football game, where UH will be playing against the Arizona Wildcats! Grab your student ticket and watch as we crown the Homecoming King and Queen during halftime. Click here for more information.

  • The Houston Furniture Bank For more than 30 years, The Furniture Bank has been serving families affected by poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, mental and physical health concerns, and disasters. Click here for more information.
  • Houston Children's Charity Gala - Houston Children's Charity's annual Gala is a major fundraising event that supports their various programs and initiatives aimed at helping disadvantaged children. This elegant and high-profile event typically features a formal dinner, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, and opportunities for attendees to contribute to the charity’s cause.   • Project C.U.R.E. #2 - Project C.U.R.E. is the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies and equipment to resource-limited communities across the globe. Their mission is to bridge critical gaps in healthcare by delivering life-saving tools to doctors, nurses, and hospitals that otherwise go without. Click here for more information. 
  • Top Rope - Ready to take your climbing to the next level? Join us for our upcoming belay workshop! Participants will learn essential skills to safely manage a climbing system. No prior experience is necessary, making this a perfect opportunity for beginners. Click here for more information. 
  • Greeks Paws and Purpose - Join the Environmental and Sustainability Chair in collaboration with the UH Sigmas, Ques, and Poodles in a heartwarming service event as we create "Adoption Baggies" for pets in need!
