Scholarship Search Party with CSE

New Exhibits featuring Shuart Women's Research Collection

Two new exhibits featuring selections from the Carey Shuart Women’s Research Collection open in September at the University of Houston Libraries. Nevertheless, She Persisted! Women as Historic Influencers will be viewable on MD Anderson Library Floor 2, while Leagues of Their Own: Representing 60 Years of Women’s Athletics Achievement will be on display on Floor 1. Visitors are welcome to view the exhibits during regular business hours between September 6, 2024 and May 31, 2025.

This beginner-friendly clinic will have you looking like a professional climber after just one short evening! From fitting harnesses to loading belay devices to managing the slack in climbing systems—and even communicating with your climbing partners—this clinic teaches you everything you need to know to start your rock-climbing journey.

God's Not Dead

This dynamic presentation will examine the evidence for God from science, philosophy, and history. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for Q&A (questions and answers). Addison Tweedy has spoken at universities around the world for 25 years. His emphasis as well as his graduate work have focused on the intersection of science and faith and the impact of this dialogue on culture. He will be the host of the evening's event. Dr. Eric Hedin holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington and has taught physics and astronomy at Taylor University and Ball State University (BSU) in Indiana and Biola University in California. His BSU course, The Boundaries of Science, attracted national media attention. Dr. Hedin’s recent book, Canceled Science: What Some Atheists Don’t Want You to See, highlights scientific evidence pointing to design.
