Fresh Check Day is a yearly event that seeks to bring awareness of various types of mental health issues and coping strategies, along with collegiate mental health resources, in an approachable and interactive experience.  Join us for food, interactive booths, free giveaways, and an honest and open conversation on mental health!

Support & Resources for Election Season Well-Being

As we approach the upcoming Presidential election, we recognize that reactions to the results may vary. Some students may feel unaffected, while others may experience stress or heightened emotions. The University of Houston Division of Student Affairs is here to support you, offering resources to help you manage stress and stay connected. Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is available for students seeking guidance, as well as Togetherall, a free online peer support community. You can also access telehealth services, practice mindfulness in the meditation space at the Rec Center, exercise, or connect with peers. Remember to prioritize your well-being and reach out to these resources as needed

Book Talk: Bill Hobby, A Life in Journalism and Public Service

Join the Hobby School of Public Affairs and the authors of “Bill Hobby: A Life of Journalism and Public Service” for a book talk about the school's namesake, former Lt. Gov. Bill Hobby, Jr. Biographers document Bill Hobby’s indelible influence at the Houston Post, Texas Senate and in public education. Attendees can purchase a copy of the book for signing by the authors. Registration is free but required. Event check-in starts at 5 p.m., the panel discussion begins at 5:30 p.m., and a reception and book signing follow.
