As associate director of the Office of Global Engagement & Special Programs, Adrian helps lead the College’s programs and initiatives that aim to instill in students cultural competency and global literacy. Adrian has co-led learning abroad programs to Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Israel, Turkey, and Greece. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Adrian serves as an adviser to the Model Arab League, Model G20, and Model United Nations teams.

Prior to focusing on global engagement, Adrian served as the program manager of co-curricular programs in the Honors College. In this role, he supported service learning and undergraduate research, in addition to global engagement. Passionate about student development, Adrian mentored students in the Bonner Leaders Program by guiding them through the process of developing, executing, and assessing sustainable service in Houston’s Third Ward community. Adrian also oversaw the Houston Early Research Experience (HERE) program which introduces rising sophomores and juniors to the fundamentals of research by exploring issues affecting the greater Houston area, including urbanization, climate change, and chronic flooding.

Adrian, an alumnus of the University of Houston, holds undergraduate degrees in Middle Eastern studies and political science. His graduate studies are in international security and development. Before embarking on a career in higher education, Adrian was an award-winning news producer and a flight attendant.
