Energy and Sustainability Minor Curriculum

Requirements to Declare
Applicant must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in 15 or more hours at UH and must have at least sophomore standing (30+ hours) to declare the minor.

Requirements to Graduate with the Minor
A 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA in all courses attempted for the minor is required for graduation. All required courses and electives for the minor are included in this calculation.

Minor Curriculum  for students who declare the minor beginning in Fall 2018

A minor in Energy and Sustainability requires 18 hours of approved coursework. Students who declare the minor beginning in Fall 2018 will have to complete the following curriculum, consisting of two required courses and four electives, two from each of two categories below. Additionally, students may not choose more than 2 courses (6 hours) from any one department. In courses used to fulfill minor requirements, a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA is required for graduation. No more than six hours of a student’s major may be applied to the minor.

Minor Curriculum  for students who declared the minor before Fall 2018

The Energy and Sustainability minor consists of 18 hours, 9 hours of which must be advanced hours in residence. Required courses include "Introduction to Energy and Sustainability" (ENRG 3310) and a capstone class: ENRG 4320, HON 4360 (cross-listed as INTB 4397) or the completion of an approved research or writing project in an approved class. The additional 12 hours are selected from the list of approved electives, with no more than six hours from any one area and no more than 12 hours of ENRG courses total for the minor.
