Speech

Houston Speech is the Individual Events team at the University of Houston. Formerly part of the UH Forensics Society, competitive speech at UH is now housed in the Honors College. The team has a long history dating back to the 1960s, hosting the Pi Kappa Delta National Convention in 1971 and winning numerous tournaments and awards over the decades.  

Houston Speech competes in such AFA events as Impromptu Speaking, Informative Speaking, Prose Interpretation, Dramatic Duo, Extemporaneous Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, Program Oral Interpretation, After Dinner Speaking, Communication Analysis, Drama Interpretation and Poetry Interpretation.
