MISSION STATEMENT

The Ethics Center supports programs, events, and lectures in all areas of ethics with an underlying emphasis on ethical leadership. We define leadership broadly to include not only formal organizational and group leadership but also all the informal and indirect ways in which individuals influence and guide the beliefs and choices of others including by giving advice, expressing disapproval, and/or leading by example. The Ethics Center aims to help individuals to clarify what it means to be an ethical person and leader through reflection on the goals of an ethical life, right and wrong conduct, the ethical responsibilities of different leadership roles, and whether a leader can be a “good person” in all capacities - or if a different morality applies in their organization or group roles.
