READ ALOUDS
Children can deepen their literacy skills and love of learning by hearing stories read aloud. Enjoy several stories read by College of Education staff members Velvette Laurence, David Laurence and Tim Rosas: “Where the Wild Things Are,” “The Lobster and the Crab,” “A Family Apart,” “And Then What Happened, Paul Revere?” and “Ramona Quimby, Age 8.”
UH students in the Cougar Literacy Corps – AmeriCorps program also are ensuring children don’t miss story time. The students have diverse books, and their recordings are available online through the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s We Read effort.
