Parent-Child Interaction Lab

About Our Research

The University of Houston Parent-Child Interaction Lab uses mixed-methods study designs to evaluate parenting feeding behaviors and parenting in general.  Our methods of research include observational studies of parents and their children utilizing The Observer Software by Noldus as well as surveys and parent interviews.  We welcome parents and their young children into the lab to participate in various activities, feeding interactions and dynamic dyadic assessments.

We are also interested in developing measures of parenting.  We use a multi-stage process to develop measures that includes parent feedback at several levels as well as testing.  Please contact us if you are interested in using our fullness measure or our parenting social support measure.
