College of Education Alumnus Named Director of the Blackburn Institute

Ryan Dr. Ryan “Mac” Griswold, a graduate of the College of Education’s Educational Psychology Doctoral Program, has accepted the position of Director of the Blackburn Institute at the University of Alabama.

The Blackburn Institute works to develop a network of leaders, the Blackburn Fellows, who have a clear understanding of the challenges that face the State of Alabama. The Institute provides the Fellows opportunities to explore issues and identify strategic actions that will improve the quality of life for the state and nation.

Dr. Griswold most recently served as the Director of Assessment and Operations with the Center for Civic Leadership at Rice University. His particular research interests include the learning outcomes associated with activities that contribute to a lifelong commitment to civic engagement.

We congratulate Dr. Griswold in his accomplishments as an alumnus of the College and wish him well in his future endeavor.
