Laboratory of Practice - Ed.D. in Professional Leadership - K-12

The Laboratory of Practice is an inquiry experience that immerses Ed.D. candidates in investigating practical and significant education-related dilemmas in a Houston-area school, non-profit, or other similar organization. Students will register of 6 hours (2 courses) during one semester to complete this requirement.

Activities that are typically required for the Laboratory of Practice are:

  • Develop Research Questions
  • Design a plan of inquiry
  • Search for related literature regarding the research question
  • Conduct Field Work
  • Analyze findings
  • Articulate reasonable solutions to the challenge in question
  • Work as a collaborative team with fellow educators/students.

Faculty members with experience and interest in the particular dilemma or context will facilitate the process.
