The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services is proud to host a student watch party for the debate between U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and U.S. Congressman Beto O’Rourke on Sunday, September 30. UH students are invited to come to the Student Center Houston Room to watch a broadcast of the debate between incumbent Republican Senator Cruz and his Democratic challenger, O’Rourke. The Senator and the Senate hopeful will discuss a number of topics in a town hall-style meeting at the University of Houston.

This debate is the second of three held throughout Texas between Cruz and O’Rourke. Dallas will host the first debate September 21 and San Antonio will host the third one October 16. Cruz and O’Rourke will be discussing many topics over the course of the three debate events. Early voting begins October 22, six days after the third and final debate in San Antonio.

Doors open in the Student Center Houston Room for the student watch party at 5:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and the debate is scheduled to air from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Voter registration will also be available.
