The Dean of Students Office is pleased to announce that Ms. Hope Pacheco joined the staff of the University of Houston (UH) Dean of Students Office (DOS) effective January 13, 2014 in a newly created position titled dean of students case manager. Ms. Pacheco’s major responsibilities include: developing and managing innovative services designed to assist students with medical, psychological, social, financial, and academic needs; providing support for the UH Conduct Assessment and Response Team (CART); and linking students to UH and Houston community resources based on their particular needs. She will also serve as a designated problem–solver and student advocate for students seeking assistance with any issue pertaining to their success at UH.

Prior to joining UH, Ms. Pacheco has served as a military caseworker for the Houston Red Cross, a family services worker for Houston Catholic Charities, and the director of student support counseling services with the YES Prep Public Schools in Houston. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Texas-Austin, a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, and she is a licensed master social worker.
