The Student Health Center, located within the Health 2 building of the UH Main campus, offers both in-person and telemedicine services, but should not be considered an urgent care center or emergency department. Students experiencing a medical emergency should call 911 or proceed to their nearest emergency department.

Medical providers at the Student Health Center have clinical expertise in screening and prevention of disease as well as treatment and management of both acute and chronic illnesses. Students attending classes at UH at Sugar Land are eligible for services. Telemedicine appointments are available through the Healthy Coog portal, which can also be used to schedule appointments, receive lab reports, and view and print immunization records.

The Student Health Center offers primary care — including general medicine, men’s health and women’s health — and psychiatry care (telepsychiatry services are available), and a number of other medical care services.
