Council for Cultural Activities (CCA)

Position:

  • Liaison

The Council for Cultural Activities is a university-sponsored organization that promotes cultural awareness, diversity, and inclusion at the University of Houston by supporting cultural and diversity-related registered student organizations and events on campus. As a Liaison, this position will support the implementation of CCA’s signature events and collaborate with registered student organizations through the co-sponsorship process. The Marketing and Outreach Liaison is responsible for CCA's advertising initiatives and promoting CCA, its mission, and its events to RSOs and the University of Houston community. As a co-sponsor for cultural organizations and events, CCA supports marketing, event proposal development, equipment rentals, and financial support. Frontier Fiesta

Position:

  • Director of Productions

Frontier Fiesta is the longest-standing programming tradition at the University of Houston. From performances of all types to carnival rides to amazing variety shows, Fiesta has something for everyone. Fiesta is hiring for the Director of Productions. This role is responsible for outreach to organizations, managing the application process, and communicating with organizations to curate a slate of variety show programs executed by various student organizations through Frontier Fiesta. Student Program Board

The Student Program Board's mission is to enhance the student experience at the University of Houston and bring the community together through entertaining, thought-provoking, and programming inclusive events. We aim to program for every student on the UH campus, by staying connected and understanding our students' wants and needs. We focus on diversity, both in our programming and in the building of our team. The Student Program Board is a great way to get involved with campus life and an easy way to meet a lot of great new people. The Cinema Director is responsible for organizing a slate of cinema events by bringing the latest blockbuster movies to campus. The person in this position works with other board members and other groups to make these and other SPB events happen throughout the year.
The instructional assistant position is a graduate level position that works with the Student Program Board as a co-advisor along with the professional staff advisor. In this role, you will advise student leaders, assist in planning and implementation of events, and support other projects and initiatives within the Center for Student Involvement. Full-time enrollment in a graduate program is required. The ideal candidate will have an interest in Student Affairs and/or Student Activities, experience with event planning and management, and an understanding of college student learning and development. Cougar Involvement Ambassadors

Student Centers Policy Board

Positions:

  • At-Large Member (2 positions)

Are you looking for another way to get involved with the Student Centers? Now is your chance! The Student Centers Policy Board (SCPB) is searching for two students to serve as At-Large members for two-year terms (2021 - 2023). Any UH student is eligible to apply. The 19-member board includes students, faculty, and staff. The SCPB assists in policy development and long-range planning for the Student Center South and North buildings. The SCPB advises the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and the SC Executive Director on programs and services. The SCPB has been involved with suggestions and improvements to the SC such as: providing computers for the Student Organization carrel area, securing additional bike racks for the Student Centers, and adding a piano in the Legacy Lounge.
