ServeHTX: MLK Day of Service

Join us for MLK Day of Service: an afternoon of service in support of the Houston Community! Connect with new friends, learn more about Houston, and make a positive impact in the community. Lunch, a t-shirt, and materials required for service projects will be provided for all volunteers. Take a look at the service projects below to learn more and pre-register on Get Involved!
Houston Furniture Bank: The Houston Furniture Bank provides essential furniture to families in transition, in partnership with Houston area charities. Projects at this site may include mattress recycling, helping to organize donations, and more.
POST HTX Skyfarm: Learn more about urban farming, regenerative food systems, and soil health at the Skyfarm at POST HTX! At this site, volunteers can expect to harvest, prepare for planting, maintain fields, and more. A waiver will need to be signed during sign-up.
Houston Public Library: Help out with a number of projects at the Houston Public Library downtown! Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about how the Library impacts the local community and help organize to prepare for Youth Services and other programs!
Cougar Closet: Help the Cougar Closet get ready for the semester ahead with some spring cleaning! Help sort and organize donations and other projects so that UH Cougars are able to take advantage of the wonderful services they provide.
No Sew Blankets & Pillows: Can't stay the whole time or need to stick around campus? No problem! You can drop by and help make no sew blankets and pillows to be donated locally.
