Our Mission
Coog Strong, Mask On is the University of Houston’s rallying cry to defeat COVID-19. It is a recognition that our UH Community must unite on a common mission to prevent the pandemic from disrupting our individual goals and our University’s Tier One academic and research pursuits.
To be successful as a University, individually we must commit to protect ourselves, and each other, from contracting and spreading this virus using a strategy that starts with our first line of defense: Mask On.
Together, we are Coog Strong.
Our Expectations, Your Commitment
Masks
Required on campus at all times in indoor public areas and outdoors when physical distancing is not possible, except in cases when an official accommodation has been granted. Masks with valves, that expel exhaled air, are prohibited, as they are not considered adequate by the CDC.
Social Distancing
Make every effort to maintain at least a 6-foot distance from others (even when wearing a face covering). Avoid gathering in groups and stay away from crowded areas.
Good Hygiene Practices
- Wash hands often for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your face
- Avoid sharing food, cups and utensils
- Sneeze/cough into a tissue or the inside of your elbow
- Wipe down and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
Health Assessment
Conduct a health self-assessment each morning. Download the UH Go app and access the Coog Strong feature’s self-assessment tool.
Stay Home
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and avoid contact with others.
Report Exposure or Diagnosis
If you have tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have been potentially exposed to a person with COVID-19, report it through the proper UH channels so that necessary precautions can be taken and follow outlined protocols to minimize the spread and take care of your health. If you display symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, learn more about testing at the Student Health Center.
The University has placed signs throughout campus to remind you of prevention protocols to follow. If you are an employee who would like to place additional signage in your area, signs are available to download and print in the Download Zone.
