Alexander Parsons
Professor Alexander Parsons (Creative Writing) has been selected as one of the winners of the 2010 University of Houston Teaching Excellence Award. The award recognizes outstanding faculty and teaching assistants/fellows who have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Recipients of the Teaching Excellence Award receive a trophy and a check for $2,000 - $5,000.
Parsons was formerly an editor and freelance writer in New York, Washington D.C., and South America. He is the author of Leaving Disneyland (2001) and Shadows of the Sun (2005).
