David Mikics is the Moores Distinguished Professor in the English Department and the Honors College. He is currently writing a book on Stanley Kubrick for the Yale Jewish Lives Series. His most recent books are Bellow's People: How Saul Bellow Made Life Into Art (Norton) and Slow Reading in a Hurried Age (Harvard/Belknap). In addition to Kubrick, he is interested in film genres (the war movie, the western, film noir), Hitchcock, and film and politics.
