Who are the CFSL Ambassadors?

The Center of Fraternity & Sorority Life Ambassadors are a group of fraternity and sorority leaders who serve as student representatives of the Center. In this role, the CFSL Ambassadors are selected and trained to provide support, programming, and peer education to the University of Houston fraternity/sorority community.

How can I become a CFSL Ambassador?

Interested in becoming a CFSL Ambassadors? Check out the qualifications below!

  • Full-time UH student
  • 2.7 semester and cumulative GPA or higher
  • Considered an active member in a CFSL registered fraternity/sorority organization
  • Completed CFSL Ambassador application via Get Involved
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills

Learning Outcomes

  • CFSL Ambassadors will develop an understanding of the Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life and the resources CFSL provides.
  • CFSL Ambassadors will be able to maximize their roles in leadership and involvement to contribute to meaningful action.
  • CFSL Ambassadors will be able to participate in leadership development opportunities provided by CFSL, i.e. FGLA student facilitators, etc.
  • CFSL Ambassadors will be able to foster a welcoming Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life environment.

CFSL Ambassadors General Expectations

  • Provide friendly and informative customer service.
  • Be knowledgeable about the Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life, the staff, councils, programs, and involvement opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate large scale programming targeting the University of Houston fraternity/sorority community. This programming includes, but is not limited to:
    • Greek-A-Palooza
    • National Hazing Prevention Week
    • Greeksgiving
  • Serve as student representatives of the Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life at University of Houston sponsored events such as:
    • New Student & Transfer Student Orientation
    • Cub Camp
    • Cat's Back
    • Explore the Powerhouse
  • Assist Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life staff during community programming such as:
    • Future Greek Leaders Academy
    • Night of Celebration
    • Greek Week

Training and Development

CFSL Ambassadors will be required to attend the spring training and summer planning retreat along with all scheduled meetings throughout the academic year.
