Committed Coog Faculty and Staff Certificate Program

The Committed Coog Diversity Leadership Certificate provides engaging workshops and programs aimed at increasing staff and faculty's awareness and understanding of their own culture and the culture of others. Improvement in these areas enhances participants' ability to effectively support our diverse student population and work in inclusive teams.

The Committed Coog Diversity Leadership Certificate program is led by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and managed through the Get Involved platform accessible through Access UH. There is no formal registration required to get the certificate. Attendance is tracked at each workshop that you attend and your progress is automatically updated. Staff and Faculty Capstone

To complete the Committed Coog program, staff and faculty are highly encouraged to engage in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) at a cost of $50. This tool generates profiles on an individual's intercultural competence paired with an Individual Development plan -- a detailed blueprint for the individual to further develop their cultural competence.

The Center acknowledges that the IDI assessment may be cost-prohibitive to faculty and staff. If IDI is inaccessible to you due to a lack of professional development or departmental funding, please reach out to Carlie Pierre for a separate capstone. We do not want cost to be a barrier for faculty and staff to complete the Committed Coog program.
