Modulation of the Constitutive Androstane Receptor in Chemotherapy

Tuesday, October 4, 2022

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

About the Event:

Metabolism-based drug-drug interactions and drug-induced liver toxicity are major concerns in drug development and clinical practice. In this talk, Hongbing Wang, Ph.D., will present the role of human CAR in liver tumor progression which appears to be in stark contrast to its rodent counterparts. Meanwhile, dual activation of hCAR and Nrf2 facilitates cyclophosphamide/doxorubicin-based treatment of triple-negative breast cancer.

About the Speaker:

Hongbing Wang, Ph.D., Professor & Program Chair, Experimental and Translational Therapeutics. Dr. Wang’s research interests focus on the investigations of the molecular mechanisms that govern the xenobiotic-induced regulation of metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters in humans, including metabolism-associated drug-drug interactions, drug-induced liver toxicity, and interaction between pharmacogenomics and nuclear receptor-mediated induction of drug-metabolizing enzymes.

This is a hybrid event. If you registered in Eventbrite, a Zoom link will be sent out the day of the event.
