Discovery of Novel Biomarkers and Drug Targets in Cancer

About the Event

Meghana Trivedi will discuss two projects. First, she will talk about a novel approach to discover biomarkers to assess on-target effects using circulating tumor cells and predict clinical response of FDA-approved or investigational drugs in patients. Second, she will discuss overall strategies to discover novel drug targets with both efficacy and safety.

About the Speaker

Meghana Trivedi is a board-certified oncology pharmacist, a molecular pharmacologist, and a clinical and translational cancer scientist. With training and experience in target, drug and biomarker discoveries in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, her work centers on medication therapy management in cancer patients. Currently, she is director of clinical and translational research and an associate professor of clinical pharmacy and pharmacology at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.
