Experience a collaborative sculptural show about the 18th century Black French composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Joseph Bologne flourished in the pinnacle of high society and was also instrumental in the global abolitionist movement. The performance focuses on abstracted customary rituals around the performance of fashion and opera.
Convergence Research is a collaboration between the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts (CWMCA) and the Blaffer Art Museum. The Blaffer Art Museum and CWMCA strongly encourage the interdisciplinary use of concepts and techniques to stimulate the creative process and cultivate live investigation. Students and Faculty in the McGovern College of the Arts are invited to participate in Convergence Research, a performance platform for experimentation and research.
