Social Justice Guest Lecture

The UH College of Education’s Racial Justice, Equity and Well-being Lecture Series will feature a free virtual guest lecture on Wednesday, Nov. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. by Menah Pratt-Clarke, a professor of education and vice president for strategic affairs and vice provost for inclusion and diversity at Virginia Tech. She will discuss the implementation of the transdisciplinary applied social justice model. Join via Zoom.

Speaker Bio

Menah Pratt-Clarke is a writer, scholar, activist and advocate with over 30 years of administrative, academic and community engagement experience. She is a professor of education and serves as vice president for strategic affairs and vice provost for inclusion and diversity at Virginia Tech. Her book, “A Black Woman’s Journey from Cotton Picking to College Professor: Lessons about Race, Gender, and Class in America,” was awarded the 2018 American Education Studies Association Critics’ Choice Book Award for outstanding scholarship. Her large-scale transformational leadership in higher education was recognized by the 2021 Inclusive Excellence Individual Leadership Award from the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. She is committed to excellence and helping to actualize the potential of individuals and institutions to advance and serve humanity.
