Data Science: Industry Hiring

About the Event:

An online, interactive forum will be held for UH students to discuss hiring protocols with speakers from HPE, ConocoPhillips and NVIDIA.

Speaker Bios:

Swati Oza is an IT director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, leading the Emerging Technologies, Data Integrations & Machine Learning space. Oza joined HPE in 2006 as a database administrator and has held various positions at HPE, including leading the Global Database and Data Architecture teams, prior to taking on her current role. During her various roles at HP/HPE, Oza has established the architecture, service definitions, policies and team structure needed to enable a federated delivery model across service integrators.

Jonathan Bentz is a Senior Solutions Architect with NVIDIA, leading a team of scientists and engineers focused on University customers. Bentz and his group work as technical resources for universities, to support and enable their use of accelerated computing in HPC and AI. Prior to NVIDIA, Bentz was a software engineer at Cray in the scientific libraries group. Jonathan obtained a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Iowa State University.

Bo Hu is the director of Advanced Analytics with ConocoPhillips, leading a team of data scientists. Prior to ConocoPhillips, Hu worked as senior data scientist at Schlumberger and as a data scientist advisor at Sanchez Oil & Gas. Hu received her Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada.
