Members of the BTI Institute team met with representatives from the Department of Transportation Studies in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology at Texas Southern University to discuss potential education collaboration opportunities on December 5, 2019.  

Dr. Maura Pereira, BTI Institute Education manager, Dr. Abria Magee, BTI Institute Research manager, and Dr. George Zouridakis, BTI Institute Research Committee Chair, met with Dr. Yi Qi, Department Chair, Dr. Mehdi Azimi, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Robert Morgan Jr., to discuss the BTI Institute Curriculum Development initiative. 

The object of the initiative is to enhance the professional competencies of the DHS workforce in the critical areas of Border Management and Cross-Border Trade and Transport Security. The first course for the new program has been developed and will be available in Spring 2020.
