Fresh Food Company offers new menu items

By Emily Fahner

Fresh Food Company in Moody Towers is offering new items to its made without gluten and halal stations to add variety to the daily menus.

The made without gluten station features made-to-order rice bowls and baked potatoes that accommodate the needs of those following vegan, vegetarian, halal or gluten-free diets. Rice bowls are served every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and customers can add from a selection of sautéed vegetables. Every Tuesday and Thursday, sweet and russet potatoes will be served with a variety of toppings.

“We have created a menu that allows customers to customize their lunch or dinner however they desire,” said Travis Ramirez, registered dietitian. “Our team will prepare each bowl or potato on the spot for a guaranteed fresh and nutritious meal.”

The halal station will feature a weekly international cuisine. Options will include Mediterranean, Mexican, Korean and Indian dishes and will fit the guidelines of halal, vegetarian and vegan diets.

“Dishes will be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday for lunch and Tuesday and Thursday for dinner,” said Ramirez. “We are very excited for customers to try these new dishes.”

Students, faculty and staff with specific dietary needs are encouraged to contact Ramirez for a free consultation by phone or email at 832-842-5498 and ramirez-travis@aramark.com.
