Houston, September 4. 2009 The
University of Houston has unfurled
Cougar Red and White again, this
time its on the newly designed
Cougar Card. The Cougar Card not
only serves as the universitys
official identification card but
faculty, staff and students can also
use the card for various privileges
including flex accounts, cougar
cash, use of the campus recreation
center, library privileges and for
entry at Cougar athletic events.
The new Cougar Card will not provide
any 3rd party banking options,
however, the university is
introducing a Higher One Refund Card
which will be the source of direct
refunds from the university to
students and serves as an option to
those who would like to have a
Higher One bank account.
The Cougar Card Office has been
working to transition the entire
campus to the new Cougar Card since
the Spring semester. Nearly all
faculty and staff have received
their new card and all students are
expected to receive their card by
November 15. If a student has not
received their card by this date,
they should visit the Cougar Card
Office in room 279 at the University
Center or call 713-743-CARD. Once
the Cougar Card is received it
should be activated immediately at
https://cougarcard.uh.edu/activate
so all privileges transfer to the
new card. If you are a returning
student and have not received your
Cougar Card yet, you should continue
to use your existing ID card until
activation of the new Cougar Card.
The Cougar Card Office is now a unit
under University Services.
University Services oversees various
campus services including parking
and transportation, sustainability
initiatives, dining services,
printing and postal and vending
services. For more information about
