National Night Out held in Lynn Eusan Park

The UH community got together at Lynn Eusan Park Oct. 1 for National Night Out activities. UH Police Officer Yolanda Edmund, along with other UHPD members, coordinated the event in effort to promote community awareness and crime prevention.

UH students and staff enjoyed eating free hot dogs, ice cream and other goodies while visiting with one another and listening to members of the UH marching band at the beginning of the event and radio station 95.7 FM later in the evening. Several departments and organizations set up displays.

After National Night Out concluded, the Walk in the Dark began. With the help of the Student Government Association, small groups walked the campus taking notes of areas that needed attention. Recommendations for enhanced lighting needs, repairing broken pavement and other issues on campus were reported.

For those who were not available to join the walk, but would like to submit an observation or suggestion, security and safety suggestions can be emailed to ydgoodal@central.uh.edu.
