Students flock to town hall to learn about dining’s future

The University of Houston Dining Vision Plan was the center of attention at the Food Service Advisory Committee’s Town Hall.

The event, which took place Oct. 10, drew a crowd of students and some staff to the Midtown Room in the Student Center South.

UH Dining representatives discussed the many exciting plans for campus food service over the next five years. They also received valuable feedback from those in attendance. Three lucky students who attended received Starbucks gift cards in a random drawing.

This vision plan for dining on campus was produced through a collaborative process that involved primary and secondary research, facilities analysis, and involvement stakeholders throughout the vision planning process.

The overarching goal of this vision plan is to fill visionary and functional gaps in the campus dining experience, while keeping pace with continued growth at UH.

Goals of the plan include:

  • Improved access to food across campus.
  • Expanded space to meet the growing campus population.
  • Increased food variety.
  • Modernized retail and residential dining.
  • Increased student engagement through design, technology, student success and career opportunities.
