GROUNDBREAKING COMMEMORATES BEGINNING OF DINING HALL CONSTRUCTION

Members of the University community met Thursday, Oct. 20 to celebrate the beginning of construction on the newest residential restaurant. The new facility, located on the corner of Wheeler and Cullen, will feature a 25,000 sq. ft. Real Food on Campus dining hall and an 800 sq. ft. Cougar Xpress Market that will be styled after the Cougar Village store.

The new facility will replace the Real Food on Campus in Oberholtzer Hall, and the current facility will then be re-purposed for other uses.

The new residential restaurant will have a custom name chosen from submissions by the University community. After all submissions are collected, Dining and University Services team members will narrow the list down to the top five. The Food Service Advisory Committee will then choose the winner from that list.

The person who submits the winning name will receive a bicycle and have their name included on a plaque in the new facility. To enter a submission, click here from Nov. 1, 2011 through Feb. 29, 2012 and post your suggestion on the pages wall.
