UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENTS GET REWARDED FOR RECYCLING

Recycling pays off, literally, for university departments participating in the Recycled Paper Program. In a partnership with Todays Business Solutions (TBS), departments spending at least $100 on recycled paper will receive a 5 percent rebate based on the total amount purchased during a six month period.

We are pleased that Todays Business Solutions has partnered with us to not only save the University money on office supplies, which are about 50 percent less expensive than retail on average, but also to help the University promote the use of recycled paper to reduce its carbon footprint, said Mike Glisson UHs Executive Director of Finance.

The top four departments will also receive 20,000 HP points to spend on Hewlett Packard products and supplies of their choice including printers, scanners, fax machines and/or maintenance packs. The top spenders on recycled paper during the six-month evaluation period were the University Library; Optometry Deans Office; Child and Family Center for Innovative Research; and Engineering Deans Office.

The first leg of the program ran from April 1 to September 30 and will recommence from October 1 through March 31. Incentive amounts were based on TBS purchasing records during the evaluation period.

Eligible departments will receive their rebate checks beginning the week of November 1.
