A DECADE OF EXCELLENCE
Residential Life & Housing (RLH) has
two University of Houston Excellence
Award winners this year, James
Aguanno and Nora Fisher. This makes
the tenth year in a row that RLH has
had Excellence Award winners or
McElhinney Award winners among its
staff.
James Aguanno, Office Assistant 2,
won in the Non-exempt: Office and
Clerical category. He has worked for
RLH for almost twelve years in the
Residence Life office. Aguanno has
consistently displayed a willingness
to take on new responsibilities and
to recognize and close service gaps.
As a result, Aguanno�s job duties
include such disparate functions as
space reservations, maintaining
residential assistant personnel
files and providing audio-visual and
computer support.
Nora Fisher has been a custodian
with RLH for almost eleven years.
She won in the Non-exempt:
Technical, Service and Crafts
category. Fisher is known for her
caring attitude and unwavering
devotion to her job. She is always
willing to go the extra mile, even
coming in after hours when a sick
live-in staff member needed help.
RLH has had a decade of Excellence
and McElhinney Award winners. Since
no one works alone, RLH staff
members consider each award to be an
acknowledgement of the effectiveness
of the RLH team. The department is
very proud of all of its award
winners and of its decade of
