University of Houston Cougar-Connect HUB Event :
June 2011
Did you know that the Houston
Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)
gross product in 2010 was $395.4
billion? Only 29 nations outside the
U.S. can claim gross products that
exceed Houstons with approximately
50% of this output provided
by.small businesses! Small business
is a big part of our local economic
engine, and HUB vendors contribute
greatly to our business climate.
The UH System Purchasing Departments
(UH, UH Clearlake, UH Downtown, and UH
Victoria) in partnership with the UH
Small Business Development Center,
invites the University community to
the 2011 UH Cougar-Connect HUB
Event.
The goal of this event is twofold:
first, to foster outreach to
historically underutilized business
vendors by providing access,
information, and guidance in how to
do business with our community; and
second, to connect HUB vendors with
University leaders, stakeholders,
and decision makers in order to
assist in developing ongoing
relationships and opportunities for
HUB vendors.
HUB vendors will showcase their
goods and services on campus in
support of the mission of the
University of Houston. The
Cougar-Connect Event will be held on
the UH main campus in June 2011.
Details to be released soon so stay
tuned.

and HUB Coordinator
