FY11 Faculty/Staff Online Parking Registration Now Open
Online parking registration for
faculty and staff is now open and
runs through June 30, 2010. Current
reserved parkers will need to wait
until May 15th to register for your
FY11 permit; all others may do so
now.
For FY11, we have some exciting
changes to share with you. We have
now integrated our faculty/staff
online parking registration into our
Parking E-Services website. The
website currently handles all online
citation payments, online citation
appeals and student permit
registrations. The system is able to
accept credit card payments
(Visa/MasterCard) and payroll
deductions. Consequently, we are
very excited to announce we have a
unified website that can service the
needs of the entire UH community in
one place.
To register, go to
www.uh.edu/parking and
click on Permit Registration on
the left side of the page. Employees
will then enter their PeopleSoft
Employee ID as their user name and
their last name as their password if
this is their first time using the
website. If you have previously used
the website to pay a citation or
file an appeal, the system should
have asked you to set a permanent
password. You will need to use your
permanent password to enter the
website. If you do not remember the
password, you may request to have
your password reset by email
(parking@uh.edu) or by phone (call
3-1097).
The registration process for this
year is slightly different from last
year.
This year all gated lot parkers have
been approved to return to their
current lot. This approval is based
on the employees lot assignment as
of May 1, 2010. For those wishing to
change gated lots, it is suggested
that they renew their current gated
parking assignment and then put
their name on the waitlist for their
preferred lot.
Current reserved parkers will need
to wait a few more days to register
for parking. This is due to a new
process being introduced this year
that will assign employees that park
in reserved spaces a permanent
permit number. On May 15th, reserved
parkers will see an option to renew
their new reserved permit. Every
year the employee will receive a new
hangtag with the same permit number
as long as they continue to renew.
The hangtags will expire annually as
they have in the past. Those that no
longer want reserved parking will
need to select one of the other
parking options listed.
Employees with FY10 disabled permits
who have State placards that have
not expired have been pre-approved
and can renew their disabled parking
online. If your placard has expired,
you will need to provide us with a
copy of the new placard before you
can order a new permit. Those
needing temporary disabled parking
authorization will need to visit the
Center for Students with
Disabilities.
Current Garage, Ungated or Economy
lot parkers who wish to move into a
gated lot will need to register for
a non gated permit first and then
register on the waitlist for their
preferred lot. Waitlist assignments
will be issued after online
registration closes and will be
based on employee pay grades.
With the purchase of the Energy
Research Park (ERP, formerly
Schlumberger) employees will need a
parking permit starting on September
1, 2010. Parking areas available in
ERP include Ungated, Disabled,
Economy and Motorcycle. As an
extension of the main campus, permits
will work in the designated lots on
both properties.
Teaching Fellows and Teaching
Assistants may register for
faculty/staff Ungated parking. They
must be listed as such in the
PeopleSoft HR system. All other
graduate students will not receive
the option to register for staff
permits.
If you have any questions you can
e-mail us at
parking@uh.edu or call
ext 3-1097 to speak to a parking
representative.
