UH/UHS Time & Labor Implementation
By Carla Ponzio
Phase One of the Time
& Labor project went live on April
16. What this means to employees is
the paper timesheets they would
normally receive on the first of May
for monthly employees will no longer
be printed and distributed. Monthly
employees will log into P.A.S.S. at
www.my.uh.edu to record their
leave time. If no leave was taken
during the month, the employee will
not log into P.A.S.S. to record
regular hours. The payroll system
generates the regular hours and
holiday hours automatically, there
is no approval needed for those
hours.
Instructions
for reporting their time are
available
here
under the heading of Time &
Labor.
Time & Labor is
the PeopleSoft module that provides
the electronic timesheet in P.A.S.S.
After the employee has recorded
their leave time in P.A.S.S., the
timesheet will be available to the
person that approves their time.
Once the leave hours on the
timesheet are approved, Payroll will
run a process called Time
Administration which allows the
person responsible for the payroll
within the department to approve the
payable time. Instructions for Time
Approvers and Payroll Approvers are
also available at the HRMS training
link listed above.
Training
classes were provided to Time
Approvers and Payroll approvers in
April and will continue up to the
middle of May. An online training
tutorial for Time Reporters is
available at the HRMS link above
(click on Time Reporter Training).
Users are walked through the process
of entering leave time on an
electronic timesheet.
