Classic rock group Kansas announces UH concert date

Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, defense attorneys for Steven Avery, whose case is featured in the Netflix documentary series “Making A Murderer,” will be speaking May 21 at the University of Houston.

The talk is at 8 p.m. in Cullen Performance Hall. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.entertainhouston.com or www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 or at the UH Sports and Entertainment office on the south side of TDECU Stadium.

Strang and Buting’s multi-city speaking tour involves the two attorneys in conversation about Avery’s case and its broader implications, as well as a discussion on the larger topic of the American criminal justice system. The discussion will feature a Q&A portion and the opportunity for the audience to address questions directly to Strang and Buting.

At a time when the nation is gripped with pressing questions about the fairness and effectiveness of the criminal justice system, the pair will be exploring and discussing the process of justice today and throughout history. Reviewing these situations, they will highlight the imperfections in the judicial system and suggest needed improvements.
